Countryside Conservation Office
The Countryside Conservation Office (CCO) was established in 2018, with a view to enhancing countryside revitalisation and ecological conservation in remote countryside, with Lai Chi Wo and Sha Lo Tung as the priority area, and gradually expanding the work to nearby area.
The CCO makes use of the funding of $1 billion earmarked by the Government for undertaking relevant conservation and revitalisation projects and minor improvement works, including supporting interactive collaboration of local non-profit-making organisations and villagers to implement the Countryside Conservation Funding Scheme with $500 million, and carry out suitable minor improvement works and revitalisation of the existing architectural environment in the countryside with the remaining $500 million.
