Experience sharing forum

The Green Procurement Online Sharing Forum was co-organized by the Environmental Protection Department and the Hong Kong Productivity Council on 30 November 2020. Green Procurement means purchasing green products and services with higher recycled content, less packaging, greater durability and greater energy and water efficiencies, so as to protect the environment and save natural resources, with a view to achieving the goals of resources saving and carbon reduction. With the main theme of "Adopting Green Procurement for Saving Resources and Carbon Reduction", this forum aimed to share experience on green procurement among different stakeholders, including government departments, trade associations, professional bodies and enterprises. This could help promote wider adoption of green procurement in the whole community. The forum attracted over 180 participants from different parties.

Environmental Protection Department and Hong Kong Productivity Council have jointly organised the Green Procurement Forum 2018 (the Forum) on 22 March 2018. In view of Hong Kong’s latest challenges in waste reduction and recycling, the Forum has adopted “Waste Reduction at Source, Avoid Single-use Disposable Items, Green Procurement and Recycling” as the main theme. Through sharing from representatives of various business sectors, government officials and green procurement expertise about good practices in waste reduction and recycling via green procurement, the Forum aimed to enlist wider community support to green procurement so as to help alleviating Hong Kong’s pressure on waste reduction.

Environmental Protection Department and Hong Kong Productivity Council jointly organised an experience sharing forum on 14 December 2015 to promote wider adoption of green procurement in the community. Government officials, experts and trade practitioners shared their knowledge, experiences and good practices in the field.
