Advisory Committee on Countryside Conservation

Advisory Committee on Countryside Conservation

The Advisory Committee on Countryside Conservation (ACCC) was established in July 2019. Chaired by the Secretary for Environment and Ecology (#), the members of the ACCC comprise scholars, professionals, rural/district stakeholders, representatives of green groups as well as representatives of relevant government bureaux / departments.

The main duties of the ACCC are to advise on the priorities for the conservation and revitalisation works proposals to be carried out by the Countryside Conservation Office; as well as on the policy and matters relating to the overall administration, operation and funding approach of the Countryside Conservation Funding Scheme (CCFS).

To facilitate the ACCC to consider the CCFS applications, the Vetting Subcommittee (VSC) was set up in October 2019 to vet the project applications and make recommendations to the ACCC.

# The ACCC was chaired by the Secretary for the Environment prior to the re-organisation of the Government structure which took effect from 1 July 2022. The Secretary for Environment and Ecology may, if needed, appoint the Under Secretary for Environment and Ecology as Acting Chairman to preside at the ACCC meeting.
